Have you heard Kammarheit?
It's German and therefore good, because nothing is more attuned with the cold and depraved soundscapes of dark ambient like the German soul.

I've heard a lot about them but haven't checked em out yet, The Starwheel is a pretty popular album amongst dark ambient fans.

Lustmord's great, but I'm not a huge fan of dark ambient. I like stuff like Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Biosphere, Takagi Masakatsu and Carbon Based Lifeforms.

I think you'd like David Bowie\'s album Low (a collaboration with Brian Eno)
It's probably his least known album—incidentally the content of the 'B' side foreran dark ambient

If you've never listened to Raison d'Etre you should, it's very good and accessible dark ambient, The Empty Hollow Unfolds and Requiem for Abandoned Souls are both amazing listens.

I've never heard them, so I'll remedy that at once.

Ruhr Hunter, Eluvium, Lustmord, some Dead Can Dance, etc. I also like Karl Sanders' solo project and Ulver's ambient work.
